About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer

based in India to support the design and coordination of US-based building projects. The

ideal candidate will work closely with US engineers and project teams to deliver code-

compliant, constructible designs across a range of commercial, industrial, and institutional

facilities.

This is a long-term position with growth potential in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary

engineering firm working across time zones.

Key Responsibilities

Develop plumbing and fire protection system designs in compliance with US codes and standards (IPC, NFPA, ASPE, etc.)

Prepare construction drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports using Revit and AutoCAD

Coordinate with architects, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers to ensure fully integrated design solutions

Size and layout domestic water, sanitary waste/vent, stormwater, and fire sprinkler systems

Review and apply AHJ/local code amendments specific to different US jurisdictions

Able to perform hydraulic calculations for fire protection systems

Collaborate with US-based engineers and clients via video calls, emails, and project management tools

Support QA/QC efforts, redline corrections, and peer reviews of drawings

Track project deadlines and maintain documentation of design decisions

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 38 years of relevant experience in plumbing and fire protection design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with US codes: IPC, UPC, NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NFPA 24, ASPE standards
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic principles, water demand calculations, and system
  • layout best practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
  • Comfortable working in EST hours overlap (at least 34 hours/day)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working for US-based engineering consultants or contractors
  • Knowledge of Navisworks for clash detection
  • LEED familiarity or sustainable plumbing design experience
  • EIT, CPD, or international plumbing certifications (optional but valued)
