The Placement Coordinator plays a key role in facilitating the successful placement of students into relevant internships, job opportunities, or real-world projects. Working closely with academic departments, employers, and students, the Placement Coordinator ensures that students gain practical work experience to complement their academic learning and career aspirations. Key Responsibilities: -Job and Internship Sourcing: Research and identify a variety of employment and internship opportunities for students in alignment with their academic programs and career goals. Develop and manage a network of industry contacts, including local businesses, employers, and alumni, to secure placements. -Employer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong partnerships with organizations to facilitate internship and job placement opportunities for students. Regularly engage with employers to understand their workforce needs and promote student placements that meet their criteria. -Student Support and Guidance: Guide students through the placement process, from resume writing, application submission to interview preparation and final placement. Provide ongoing support throughout the placement process, ensuring students meet their academic requirements. Offer one-on-one career counseling to help students make informed decisions about internships and job opportunities. -Placement Monitoring and Follow-Up: Oversee the progress of students during their placements, ensuring alignment with program objectives. Act as a point of contact for both students and employers, addressing any issues or concerns that arise during placements. -Organizing Networking and Recruitment Events: Coordinate career fairs, recruitment sessions, and networking events to help students connect with potential employers. Organize on-campus or virtual workshops to help students develop career-related skills. -Tracking and Reporting: Monitor and maintain placement data, tracking student outcomes and placements for reporting purposes. Collect feedback from both students and employers to assess the effectiveness of placements and improve future processes. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field. 2-5 years of experience in placement coordination, career services, or student support roles. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks. Experience working with placement management software or job boards is an asset. Knowledge of the current IT & Digital job market and industry trends.
