We are hiring Piping Stress Engineer role with 8-12 years of experience in Oil & Gas projects in Mumbai, which typically involves: Stress Analysis: Performing stress analysis of piping systems using software like CAESAR II to ensure they can withstand various loads (pressure, temperature, weight, seismic, etc.). Flexibility Analysis: Evaluating piping flexibility to prevent excessive stress on equipment nozzles and supports. Support Design: Designing and specifying pipe supports (e.g., spring hangers, rigid supports, snubbers) to accommodate thermal expansion and prevent vibration. Code Compliance: Ensuring designs comply with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, B31.1). Report Writing: Preparing clear and concise stress analysis reports documenting methodology, assumptions, results, and recommendations. Collaboration: Working closely with piping designers, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to integrate stress analysis findings into the overall plant design. Problem solving: identifying and resolving piping stress-related issues during design, construction, and operation. Vendor Document Review: Reviewing vendor documents related to piping components (e.g., expansion joints, valves) to ensure compatibility with system requirements. Site Support: Providing technical support for piping-related issues during construction and commissioning. Mentoring: mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance. Qualifications & Skills: Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Experience: 8-12 years of experience in piping stress analysis, specifically within the Oil & Gas industry. Software Proficiency: Expertise in using piping stress analysis software such as CAESAR II. Code Knowledge: Thorough understanding of ASME B31.3 (Process Piping), ASME B31.1 (Power Piping), and other relevant codes and standards. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of piping design principles, materials, and fabrication methods. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and solve complex piping stress-related problems. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and collaboration with other team members. Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Location Specific Considerations (Mumbai): Familiarity with local regulations and standards may be beneficial. Experience working on projects for major Oil & Gas companies operating in the Mumbai region (e.g., Reliance, BPCL, HPCL) could be an advantage. In addition to the above, a strong candidate would also possess: Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) for more complex piping systems. Knowledge of vibration analysis and mitigation techniques. Experience with pipe support optimization.
