We have been mandated by a large conglomerate into Stainless Steel Manufacture. Position Title: DGM / Sr. Manager Mechanical Maintenance (Pipe Plant) Department: Mechanical Maintenance Location: Tarapur, Maharashtra Plant: Pipe Plant Experience: 15 - 20 years (preferably in similar seamless pipe plants) Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Job Purpose: To lead and oversee the complete mechanical maintenance operations of the Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe Plant, ensuring high equipment uptime, reliability, preventive maintenance planning, and execution across critical production assets including Piercer mills, Pilger mills, annealing furnaces, straightening machines, and associated utilities. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers, technicians, and contractors for smooth functioning of the maintenance department. Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all critical plant equipment. Ensure minimal downtime and quick turnaround during mechanical breakdowns, with strong root cause analysis and corrective action plans. Monitor health, wear & tear, and performance of Piercer mills, Pilger mills, cutting machines, and hydraulic systems. Optimize maintenance costs without compromising quality or safety. Plan, supervise and execute major overhauls, shutdown maintenance, and plant modifications. Maintain spare inventory planning and control for critical components and consumables. Implement continuous improvement practices (Kaizen, TPM, 5S) in the maintenance domain. Liaise with equipment OEMs, vendors, and contractors for technical support and AMC coordination. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and statutory compliance related to plant equipment. Prepare maintenance reports, downtime analysis, and present performance to senior management. Candidate Profile: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 15 - 20 years of relevant experience in maintenance of seamless pipe manufacturing units. Proven experience in handling Piercer and Pilger mill equipment is mandatory . Strong leadership and team management skills. Good knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. Hands-on experience in breakdown analysis, troubleshooting, and modern maintenance systems.
