Physician Assistant

The Physician Assistant in the Histopathology Department will assist pathologists in the preparation, examination, and diagnosis of tissue specimens. The role requires a strong foundation in medical science and laboratory protocols, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of surgical specimens, autopsy tissues, and biopsies.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens under the supervision of a pathologist.

Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination, including proper labeling, documentation, and submission.

Maintain accurate records of specimens and findings in the Laboratory Information System

Handle autopsy tissue sampling, when required, including documentation and preservation.

Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control guidelines.

Collaborate with laboratory technicians and administrative staff to ensure timely reporting and processing.

Participate in continuing education and training programs to stay updated on histopathological practices.

Maintain a clean, safe, and sterile work environment in accordance with lab safety protocols.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies, Life Sciences, or related field.

Prior experience or training in histopathology or surgical pathology preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong knowledge of human anatomy and pathology.

Attention to detail and ability to handle specimens with care and accuracy.

Familiarity with laboratory equipment and safety procedures.

Proficient in medical terminology and laboratory documentation.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Working Conditions:
