PHP/WordPress Developer

As a skilled PHP WordPress Backend Developer at our company, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining custom WordPress themes and plugins using PHP. You will work closely with front-end developers, designers, and project managers to optimize WordPress websites for performance and scalability. Here is a detailed overview of your responsibilities: - Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins using PHP. - Build scalable and secure back-end functionality to support business and user requirements. - Optimize WordPress websites for performance and scalability. - Implement and manage APIs and third-party service integrations. - Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve website issues and bugs. - Collaborate with front-end developers and UI/UX designers to implement designs accurately. - Write clean, well-documented, and reusable code. - Ensure best practices in security, accessibility, and code versioning (Git). - Maintain WordPress core, themes, and plugins up-to-date. - Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing. Qualifications Required: - 3+ years of experience with PHP development, specifically in WordPress. - Proficiency with WordPress core functions, custom post types, taxonomies, and the REST API. - Strong understanding of MySQL and database management. - Experience creating and modifying themes and plugins from scratch. - Familiarity with WordPress hooks, filters, shortcodes, and template hierarchy. - Version control experience (preferably Git). - Experience working in an Agile or Scrum development environment. - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. In addition, familiarity with WooCommerce and other major WordPress plugins, as well as front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Vue would be considered as preferred qualifications.
