Role Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced PHP Developer to join our growing development team. As a PHP Developer, you will be responsible for creating dynamic, secure, and scalable web applications using the latest PHP technologies and SQL practices. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of PHP 8.x and newer versions, up-to-date SQL modifications, and a deep understanding of web security.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, test, and maintain web applications and backend systems using the latest PHP frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter) and technologies.
Write clean, efficient, and secure PHP code, ensuring scalability and performance optimization. Design and implement SQL queries for database interactions, ensuring optimized performance and efficient use of resources. Apply best practices in security to mitigate potential vulnerabilities (e.g., SQL injection, Cross- Site Scripting (XSS), Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF)). Ensure that applications are protected from common security flaws by performing regular code audits and implementing best security practices in both PHP and SQL code. Work with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic. Continuously improve existing code for better maintainability, efficiency, and security. Keep up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and updates in the PHP ecosystem and database technologies. Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to development standards, security best practices, and optimal performance. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with PHP applications and SQL database performance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience with PHP development (3+ years preferred).
In-depth knowledge of PHP 8.x and modern frameworks (e.g., Laravel, CodeIgniter, etc.). Advanced knowledge of SQL including complex queries, joins, indexing, and optimization. Experience with database management (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) and performance tuning. Solid understanding of web security protocols and the ability to apply secure coding practices. Knowledge of common PHP vulnerabilities (e.g., XSS, CSRF, SQL injection) and how to protect against them. Familiarity with tools like Composer, PHPUnit, Git, and other development tools. Experience with RESTful API development and integration. Familiarity with CI/CD processes and version control systems like Git.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with frontend technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript).
Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-based deployment platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems. Understanding of MVC architecture and principles.
