We are currently looking for a skilled and passionate Traditional Photographer to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will have experience in capturing posed and ceremonial moments with precision, particularly during traditional wedding rituals. This role plays a vital part in preserving the cultural richness and emotional moments of our clients" most important day. As a Traditional Photographer at Weddings by Artique, your key responsibilities will include executing photography with a focus on capturing key moments of traditional wedding rituals, portraits, and family interactions while emphasizing cultural and ceremonial accuracy. You will collaborate closely with the creative head and cinematography team to ensure consistent coverage and storytelling throughout the event. Additionally, you will be expected to follow detailed shot lists while also anticipating spontaneous moments that enhance emotional depth. In terms of client interaction, you will need to maintain a professional and warm presence during events to ensure the comfort and trust of the bride, groom, and families. Understanding client expectations regarding traditions and rituals in advance and accommodating specific requests will be essential. Technical proficiency is crucial for this role, as you will be required to operate professional photography equipment such as DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, lenses, and lighting gear. Ensuring image quality in terms of lighting, composition, and clarity, especially in challenging lighting conditions like indoor mandaps or dimly lit banquet halls, is a key aspect of the job. You will also be responsible for backing up images and securely managing data after each shoot. Furthermore, coordination and planning skills are necessary as you may need to attend pre-wedding meetings or venue recces to understand logistics, layout, and lighting conditions. Collaborating with the creative team to align your work with the overall visual strategy of the event will also be part of your responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this position should have at least 2+ years of experience in traditional wedding photography, preferably in Indian or multicultural weddings. A strong portfolio showcasing work from traditional ceremonies such as Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Christian, etc., is required. Proficiency with camera gear from brands like Canon, Nikon, Sony, and lighting equipment is essential. Flexibility to work long and flexible hours, especially during multi-day weddings, is also a must. This is a full-time position located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, requiring in-person work.
