I am inviting applications for Full-time/part-time PhD positions under my supervision at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, in cutting-edge areas of Fluid Mechanics.

𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬:

a) Rotating Convection [Broad area: Geophysical/Planetary Fluid Dynamics]

b) Transport of passive (e.g. microplastic) / active (e.g. microswimmers) particles with background flow [Broad area: Environmental Fluid dynamics/Collective motion/Biological flows]

c) Self-organization behaviour of active particles [Broad area: Collective motion]

𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: B.E/B.Tech/M.E/MTech in Mechanical / Civil / Aerospace Engineering or any allied branches, MSc in Mathematics / Physics

About the supervisor: Dr. Ayan K. Banerjee is an Assistant Professor at the School of AI, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. He earned his Ph.D. from IIT Bombay, M.Tech from IIT Delhi, and B.E. from IIEST Shibpur (formerly BESU Shibpur). He pursued postdoctoral researches at the University of Pittsburgh, USA (2022–23), and Tel Aviv University, Israel (2020–21).
