Job Position

Medical Coding is the process of converting patient health information into alpha numeric codes. Coders take medical reports from doctors, which may include a patients condition, the doctors diagnosis, a prescription, and whatever procedures the doctor or healthcare provider performed on the patient, and turn that into a set of codes, which make up a crucial part of the medical claim.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Major Tasks

Complying with medical coding guidelines and ICD-10 CM policies. Account for coding and abstracting of patient encounters. Make sure that codes are sequenced according to process guidelines and insurance regulations. Ensure all medical records are filed and processed correctly. Analyze medical records and identify documentation deficiencies. Review and verify documentation for diagnoses, procedures, and treatment results. Identify diagnostic and procedural information.
