Pharmaceutical Catalyst Development

Role Overview: As a Catalyst Development & Scale-Up In charge, you will be responsible for leading the research, development, optimization, and scale-up of catalyst systems used in pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. Your role will involve bridging laboratory innovation with plant-level implementation to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and compliant production of high-quality intermediates and APIs. Your expertise in catalysis chemistry, process knowledge, scale-up methodologies, and precious metal inventory management will be crucial for success in this role. Key Responsibilities: - Design and optimize Pd, Pt, Ru, Rh systems on suitable supports. - Scale-up from lab to pilot to plant with a focus on heat and mass transfer. - Prepare transfer packs and provide training on PFDs, CPPs, DoE results, in-process controls, and SOPs. - Ensure documentation under GMP and ICH standards, including development reports, protocols, batch records, deviations, and CAPA. - Maintain a unified data spine with the lab utilizing GC, HPLC, ICP-MS, XRD, and BET for decision-making. Qualifications Required: - Metallurgy Engineer with a minimum of 7 years of experience in catalyst development and process scale-up in the pharma or fine chemicals industry. - Strong understanding of catalysis, kinetics, reactor selection, and process safety. - Demonstrated success in pilot and commercial transfers. - Proficiency in utilizing analytical data to define and support control strategy. - Ability to demonstrate cross-functional leadership with Production, QA, and vendors. Additional Details: The company emphasizes the use of DoE for building robustness and reducing precious metal loss. Familiarity with precious metal inventory practices is valued to ensure transfers protect recovery. Experience in drafting URS and selecting pilot or plant equipment is considered a plus.,
