Pet Handler/Trainer

As a Pet Handler based in Gurgaon, Haryana, your primary responsibility is the care, supervision, and enrichment of animals under your care. You will be ensuring the well-being, safety, and comfort of pets in various settings including kennels, day-cares, grooming salons, veterinary clinics, etc. Your key responsibilities will involve providing daily care for animals which includes feeding, watering, exercising, and administering medications as required. It is essential to monitor the health of pets by observing them for signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior and promptly reporting any concerns to supervisors or veterinary staff. Basic grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, nail trimming, and cleaning ears are also part of your duties. Socialization and enrichment play a crucial role in your job as you engage pets in physical and mental activities to promote their well-being. Creating a safe and positive environment for pets, ensuring their safety and security by following established protocols for handling, restraining, and monitoring animals is paramount. Moreover, maintaining accurate records of each pet's care, health, and behavior is essential. Effective communication with pet owners is necessary to provide updates on their pets" well-being, address any concerns, and offer advice on pet care. You should have prior experience working with animals in a professional setting like a kennel, veterinary clinic, or animal shelter. Additional training or certification in animal care or pet handling is preferred for this role. Strong understanding of animal behavior and basic veterinary care, ability to handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately, excellent communication skills, detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, and physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, and standing for extended periods are the skills required for this position.
