In this role, you will be responsible for creating high-fidelity, scale-accurate, and performance-optimized 3D assets of military aircraft, vehicles, characters, and props. Your work will be a critical component of our real-time training and simulation platforms. Roles and Responsibilities: Model scale-accurate vehicles and aircraft from spec sheets, ensuring clean hard-surface topology and correct pivots. Create detailed "hero" and background characters with clean, skin-ready topology. Develop environmental props with specific variants, decals, and markings for different countries and theatres. Take full ownership of the 3D asset pipeline: modeling, UV unwrapping, baking (Normal/AO), PBR texturing, and rendering turntables for review. Optimize all assets for real-time simulation, focusing on LOD creation, triangle budgets, texel density, and efficient collision meshes. Set up and maintain skeletal rigs for characters, mechs, and complex vehicle parts, ensuring high-quality skin weighting for realistic deformation. Prepare and deliver engine-ready assets with strict adherence to naming conventions, scale, units, and export settings. Collaborate effectively with designers, software engineers, and project managers to meet project deadlines and quality standards. Must-Have Skills: 3D Modeling: Proficiency in Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max with strong skills in both hard-surface and organic modeling. Texturing: Expertise in PBR texturing workflows using Substance Painter, Quixel Suite, or equivalent software. UV & Baking: Strong experience in efficient UV unwrapping and baking maps (Normal, AO, Curvature, etc.). Rigging & Skinning: Solid understanding of skeleton/bone structures, rig hierarchy, constraints, and skin weighting. Real-Time Optimization: A performance-first mindset, with proven experience in creating LODs, managing triangle budgets, and understanding draw calls. Technical Basics: Familiarity with version control systems (Git/Perforce) and maintaining organized project files. Education: Bachelors degree in an IT, Design, or Technology field, or equivalent professional experience. Nice-to-Have Skills: Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine 5 , including the Material Editor, LOD setup, collision creation, and familiarity with Nanite or Lumen.
