Role Title - Commissioning Editor – Penguin Business Department - Editorial Reporting - Executive Editor – Penguin Business Direct Reports - No OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE Responsible for ensuring that the strongest books enter the PRH India’s Business list. STAKEHOLDERS FOR THE ROLE INTERNAL : Sales & Product, Marketing & Digital, Design & Copy, Editorial, Production EXTERNAL : Authors, Literary Agents ROLE DELIVERABLES: To keep track of existing trends to come with book ideas for the business list. To commission, & publish about 15 to 18 books a year for the list Edit 15-18 titles in a year including own titles Schedule management for your respective titles: Ensuring handovers as per agreed timelines and minimizing title movements through effective forward planning Author Care & list visibility : Managing Author relationship and expectations and liaison with external & internal stakeholders to ensure highest visibility for your titles To pay attention to the packaging and the look of the book Maintaining cordial relation with existing authors, and developing relationships with new authors Attending festivals/seminars and relevant forums from time to time to build the author network End-to-end management of the entire publishing process ROLE REQUIREMENTS Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant editorial experience of working on Business content A good understanding of publishing with a strong sense of the Business list ecosystem Ability to work with high-profile business authors, agents and demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Should be able to edit and add metadata to the platform Should be well read and should understand trends & nuances of book writing Company: Penguin Random House India Private Limited | Job ID: 281275
