Pattern Master

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop precise patterns for women’s wear (tops, dresses, bottoms, ethnic, western, and fusion wear depending on category).
• Interpret design sketches/tech packs into workable patterns.
• Conduct garment fittings and make corrections for proper fit and drape.
• Create size sets and grading to maintain fit consistency across sizes.
• Prepare markers for sampling and production.
• Suggest improvements for marker efficiency to minimize fabric wastage.
• Ensure cost-effective pattern making while maintaining design integrity.
• Collaborate with designers, merchandisers, and sampling team to finalize styles.
• Provide technical guidance to sample tailors for accurate construction.
• Keep systematic records of patterns, markers, and grading.
• Stay updated with latest techniques, CAD software, and best practices for efficiency.
  

Key Skills & Competencies:

• 10+ years of experience in Pattern Making
• Expertise in manual and/or CAD pattern making (Richpeace, Gerber, Lectra, Optitex, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of marker making and fabric utilization.
• Deep understanding of fabric behavior (woven, knits, stretch, delicate, etc.).
• Eye for fit, proportion, and detailing.
• Ability to balance design requirements with cost-effective solutions.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and precision.
