The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 3000+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project management, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation, and commissioning. Over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest Operations hub. The India Operations Centre team at Chennai, Bangalore, and Gurugram supports Hitachi Energy's units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Hitachi Energy. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries. How you'll make an impact: You will be a part of the GIS Steel Structural Engineering team, supporting project engineers / project lead engineers in developing project-specific engineering documents and drawings for submission to customers and the documents required for manufacturing of Steel Support Structures for GIS equipment (transmission and sub-transmission systems). As an individual contributor, you will deliver tasks as per given inputs and collaborate with colleagues when required, exhibiting good collaborative skills to complete the task. Interaction with departments like Primary Engineering, Secondary Engineering, Project Management, and Production units may be necessary. Preparation of Design calculations (using Staad. Pro, Idea-static & Hilti Profits) of Steel Support Structures for Gas Insulated Switchgears above 66kV is a key responsibility. Contribution to Tekla modeling will be mandatorily required in certain projects. Ensuring all necessary inputs are available from stakeholders, preparing project-specific Civil plans for customers, providing GIS loading for the design of customer building floor, ceiling cranes, etc., and conducting self-review & peer review of documents are essential tasks. Delivering designs on time with quality, coordinating with team members and project lead engineers, maintaining and updating documentation for respective projects as per quality processes, and adhering to Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity are critical aspects of this role. Your background: You should have 4-8 years of experience with a B.E/M.E. in Civil & Structural Engineering. Hands-on experience in Structural engineering using STAAD. Pro, Idea-static, Ansys & Hilti Profits software is required. Proficiency in Tekla, Navisworks, and other modeling software is essential. Familiarity with codes and applicable standards necessary for Structural Modeling & Detailing (American, European, Canadian, etc.) is mandatory. Being a team player with good communication and interpersonal skills is important. Knowledge of tools like AUTOCAD, MS Office, Galvanization & painting procedures, HSE standards like OSHA, DIN, international standards such as IEC/IEEE/ANSI, and HV substation/HV products is preferable. Working knowledge of Staad.pro is an added advantage. You will be a part of the GIS Steel Structural Engineering team, supporting the project engineers / project lead engineers in developing project-specific engineering documents and drawings for submission to customers and for the manufacturing of Steel Support Structures for GIS equipment used in transmission and sub-transmission systems. As an individual contributor, you will deliver tasks based on given inputs and collaborate effectively with colleagues when necessary to ensure task completion. Your responsibilities will include creating detailed drawings and 3D models of steel structures using Tekla Structures software, preparing Tekla models, GA drawings, and Fabrication drawings for Steel Support Structures for Gas Insulated Switchgears above 66kV. Additionally, you may liaise with other departments such as Primary Engineering, Secondary Engineering, Project Management, and Production units to ensure all necessary inputs are available from stakeholders. You will be required to prepare project-specific Civil plans for customers, providing GIS loading for the design of customer building floor, ceiling cranes, and considering the influence of environmental conditions on GIS structure designs. Self-review and peer review of documents, on-time delivery of designs with quality, and coordination with team members and project lead engineer will be essential. You will be directly responsible for maintaining and updating documentation for respective projects in accordance with quality processes and living the organizational core values of safety and integrity by taking responsibility for your actions and caring for colleagues and the business. To be successful in this role, you should have 8-14 years of experience with a B.E. in Civil/Mechanical or Structural Engineering. Hands-on experience in Tekla Structures Software is mandatory, and familiarity with tools like AUTOCAD, Staad.pro, Navisworks, and other modeling software will be advantageous. Knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with codes and applicable standards for Structural Modeling & Detailing (American, European, Canadian, etc.) are crucial. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work well in a team, are essential. Knowledge of Galvanization & painting procedures, HSE standards like OSHA, DIN, international standards such as IEC/IEEE/ANSI, HV substation/HV products, and relevant Steel Structure Standards (ACI, ASCE, ASTM, AISC, ANSI) will be beneficial. Working knowledge of Staad.pro is an added advantage. Fluency in English and additional languages, combined with strong interpersonal skills, open-mindedness, reliability, and the ability to work under pressure, are highly valued in this role.,
