Paint Lead

Role Overview: As a team lead of artists in this role, your responsibilities will include liaising with production to help ensure an efficient schedule and distribution of work. You will also work with the paint supervisor to prepare briefs and ensure quality. Additionally, you will be using patches and frame-by-frame painting techniques to remove rigs and tracking markers. De-graining plates to be used for paint and compositing, as well as bidding the duration required for the various Paint tasks on a show, are also part of your role. Furthermore, learning and developing specific Folks VFX pipeline and workflows will be essential for success. Key Responsibilities: - Liaise with production to ensure an efficient schedule and distribution of work - Work with the paint supervisor to prepare briefs and ensure quality - Use patches and frame-by-frame painting techniques to remove rigs and tracking markers - De-grain plates to be used for paint and compositing - Bid the duration required for various Paint tasks on a show - Learn and develop specific Folks VFX pipeline and workflows Qualifications Required: - Traditional art and design skills including knowledge of composition and color - Knowledge of Nuke - Knowledge of a Linux based operating system - Understanding of motion blur and how it affects mattes and patches - Prior use of a roto-scoping package, ideally Silhouette - Desire to learn new techniques and teach fellow artists - Excellent organizational and communication skills - Team-working abilities - Ability to take criticism and feedback - Good problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with other artists - Understanding of the 3D environment within Nuke - Using expressions within Nuke to help aid paint work,
