Job Description

Clinical Responsibilities

Conduct OPD consultations for infants, children, and adolescents.
Perform complete physical examinations and developmental assessments.
Diagnose, treat, and manage common pediatric illnesses (fever, respiratory infections, diarrhea, allergies, etc.).
Provide emergency care for pediatric cases.
Attend neonatal and pediatric patients in wards and NICU/PICU (as applicable).
Manage immunization schedules and administer vaccines as per national guidelines.
Handle newborn care, including resuscitation, feeding advice, and monitoring.
Prepare and maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.

Hospital/Administrative Responsibilities

Coordinate with nursing staff, other specialists, and support teams for patient management.
Ensure adherence to hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards.
Participate in medical camps, health awareness programs, and community outreach.
Support quality improvement initiatives in the pediatric department.

Parent Counseling & Education

Counsel parents regarding nutrition, growth milestones, immunization, and preventive health.
Explain diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care clearly and compassionately.
Provide guidance for newborn and child developmental care.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong clinical knowledge in pediatrics and child health.
Good patient-handling and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Compassionate, child-friendly approach.
Basic life support (BLS) / Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (preferred).
Ability to work in shifts, emergency duties, and on-call schedules.
