The DB administrator is responsible for handling physical and applicative database administration activities supporting end-to-end lifecycle of products from a database perspective. As a Database Administrator, you will be accountable for various technological duties associated with enterprise database products and Open Source databases, including design, planning, management, maintenance, and support. You should have a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in managing various DB products such as Oracle, MS SQL DB, and open-source DB like mySQL, REDIS, postgre, among others. Your responsibilities will include DB installation and configuration, DB upgrade and maintenance, SQL scripting, virtualization technologies, security management, user management, performance tuning, optimization, backup and recovery, data migration, and DB clustering. Moreover, you must be able to follow procedures in a tightly run Change Control system, communicate effectively with peers and upper management, and maintain a professional demeanor due to the high visibility of the position. The role requires support for 24x7 production with working shifts, including weekends. Any DB Administration certification and experience with Linux, Windows, or Openshift/K8 Certified Engineer is considered a plus. You will need experience with Oracle, MS SQL, mySQL, REDIS, postgre, and Sybase ASE, managing DBs in physical and virtual servers running on Linux/Unix and Windows OS. Proficiency in DevOps tools such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, and development experience in Terraform and using DevOps Tools like GitOps, GitHub, or Gitlab is essential. Experience with Ansible or other configuration management systems is advantageous. In addition, deep DB administration skills in various platforms are required, along with experience in IaaS & PaaS Platforms like Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. You should have hands-on experience in high-scale production environments, troubleshooting problems, and working with a team to resolve large-scale issues.
