Position: Quantity Surveyor & Billing Engineer-Civil & Interior Works Role Overview The Quantity Surveyor & Billing Engineer will be responsible for managing project quantities, cost estimations, and client/contractor billing for civil and interior works. The role demands expertise in BOQ preparation, rate analysis, preparing exact measurement sheet from drawings, contract billing, and reconciliation of materials and labour. Key Responsibilities 1. Quantity Surveying & Estimation Prepare detailed BOQ (Bill of Quantities) for civil & interior works from drawings and specifications. Brief knowledge of DSR (Delhi Schedule of rates). Conduct material take-offs for Civil & Interior works. Carry out rate analysis for new/extra items as per market rates, DSR, CPWD, or client-approved standards. Assist in tendering, cost estimation, and budgeting for upcoming projects. 2. Billing & Contracts Prepare client RA (Running Account) bills and ensure timely submission and certification. Verify subcontractor/vendor bills with respect to measurements, material reconciliation, and approved rates. Maintain records of variation orders, deviation statements, extra item claims, escalation bills. Ensure compliance with contract conditions and highlight deviations/claims. 3. Site Coordination & Measurement Conduct joint measurements with client/consultant/site engineers. Maintain updated measurement sheets, abstracts, and reconciliation statements. Coordinate with site team for daily progress data to support billing and reporting. Monitor wastage, productivity, and resource utilization against approved quantities. 4. Compliance & Documentation Ensure all bills are supported with proper documentation drawings, measurements, photographs, inspection notes. Keep updated records of contract agreements, amendments, and correspondence. Follow statutory guidelines for taxes, GST compliance, retention, and advances in billing. Key Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of quantity surveying, billing, and estimation in both civil & interior finishing works. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project/Primavera, and measurement software. Well-versed in CPWD/DSR, IS codes, standard specifications. Analytical skills for rate analysis, budgeting, and cost control. Strong communication and negotiation skills for client & vendor coordination. Ability to handle multiple projects and tight billing cycles. Qualification & Experience Bachelors / Diploma in Civil Engineering (Quantity Surveying specialization preferred). 5-8 years of experience in QS & Billing for civil and interior works (residential, commercial, fit-outs, corporate interiors). Exposure to interior finishes, false ceilings, joinery, flooring, MEP coordination is essential. Experience with reputed contractors, PMC, or interior firms will be preferred.
