OT Technician / OT Staff

Job Summary:

The OT Technician/OT Staff will assist in all pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative activities. The role includes preparing the operation theatre, assisting the surgeon during procedures, managing sterilization, maintaining instruments, and ensuring strict adherence to safety and hygiene protocols.

Key Responsibilities:Pre-Operative Duties

• Prepare the OT room before every procedure.
• Ensure all surgical instruments, consumables, and equipment are sterilized and ready.
• Assist in positioning patients as per clinical requirements.
• Check functioning of OT lights, suction, sterilizers, and other equipment.

Intra-Operative Duties

• Assist the surgeon and medical team during procedures.
• Handle instruments efficiently and maintain a sterile field.
• Ensure smooth coordination during the surgery.
• Monitor and maintain aseptic techniques throughout.

Post-Operative Duties

• Clean and disinfect OT area after each procedure.
• Manage post-operative instrument sterilization (autoclaving, packing, storing).
• Maintain equipment, check for damages, and report issues immediately.
• Assist in patient transfer and provide basic post-op support as instructed.

Documentation & Inventory

• Maintain OT logs, sterilization records, and usage reports.
• Monitor inventory of OT consumables and raise alerts for shortages.
• Follow protocols for biomedical waste management.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure adherence to infection control standards.
• Maintain OT hygiene and safety at all times.
• Follow clinic SOPs, guidelines, and emergency protocols.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma in OT Technician / B.Sc OT Technology / related field.
• 1–4 years of experience in OT setup (clinic or hospital).
• Strong understanding of sterilization, OT protocols, and equipment handling.
• Good communication and team coordination skills.
• Ability to maintain discipline and calmness in high-pressure situations.

Work Schedule:

• Full-time (as per QHT Clinic OT schedule)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹9,985.38 - ₹30,000.00 per month
