Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Prepare the operation theatre for surgeries including arrangement of surgical instruments, consumables, and ophthalmic equipment (phaco machine, microscope, etc.)
Assist ophthalmic surgeons during procedures like cataract, glaucoma, retinal, squint, and corneal surgeries.
Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques and infection control practices.
Perform surgical scrubbing and support instrument sterilization (autoclaving, ETO, etc.)
Administer pre- and post-operative care to patients including vital monitoring and documentation.
Maintain and update patient surgical records, OT checklists, and incident logs.
Ensure surgical instruments and equipment are cleaned, sterilized, and stored appropriately after every procedure.
Assist in handling and disposal of biomedical waste as per NABH guidelines.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding pre/post-operative care instructions.
Coordinate with OT technicians, housekeeping staff, and other support teams for efficient OT operations.
