OT Incharge

As a Nursing professional in this role, you will be responsible for the following key responsibilities: - Responsible for the OT routine, equipment, and patients. - Reviewing the doctors" notes and the drug chart and taking necessary actions. - Preparing nursing care plans and providing effective bedside nursing care. - Ensuring medication safety and practicing patient safety protocols. - Deploying manpower by preparing duty roster and assigning nursing and anesthesia technicians as per requirements. - Ensuring efficient staffing, material, and equipment availability. - Ensuring nurses are competent and capable of handling assigned tasks. - Planning OT scheduling by checking the booking register a day before surgery, coordinating with the surgeon and anesthetist, and preparing manpower and equipment for specific surgeries. - Ensuring additional resources, blood procurement, and equipment requirements are met. - Checking and ensuring the availability of medications, consumables, instruments, and equipment for surgeries. - Conducting random checks of surgical and laparoscopic instruments to ensure functionality. - Competently handling all equipment used in patient care and ensuring team competency in usage. - Maintaining updated and accurate documentation for all completed surgeries. - Maintaining emergency stock of medications and consumables in the OT. - Coordinating with OT technician, biomedical team, and housekeeping staff. - Managing materials and controlling costs through documentation, indenting, receiving stock, storage, and usage to prevent wastage and misuse. - Managing narcotic storage and documenting usage. - Being aware of NABH & Nursing excellence standards and ensuring their implementation.
