Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our 24/7 Operations Center, operating from the office. This role involves providing L1/L2 support and administration of Oracle databases, ensuring database health, security, performance, and availability. The ideal candidate will have experience in Oracle database administration both on-premises and on cloud environments such as AWS EC2 , with a strong focus on patching, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting production issues.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Respond to and resolve database-related incidents, alerts, and issues generated by monitoring tools.
- Perform Oracle database patching, upgrades, and migrations to maintain compliance and stability.
- Manage backup and recovery operations using RMAN and other enterprise backup solutions.
- Monitor and tune database performance, addressing slow queries, indexing, and resource bottlenecks.
- Ensure database security by managing users, roles, and privileges.
- Support high availability and disaster recovery setups (Data Guard, RAC, etc.).
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases across environments (development, test, production).
- Administer and support Oracle databases running on AWS EC2 , including configuration, monitoring, and patching.
- Troubleshoot connectivity and application integration issues related to Oracle databases.
- Maintain and contribute to documentation, including runbooks, KB articles, and standard procedures.
- Take ownership of database issues and escalate complex problems to higher-level teams when required.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure seamless database operations.
Essential skillsets
- 3 6 years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience in enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in Oracle 12c/19c administration, patching, and upgrades .
- Experience in deploying and managing Oracle databases on AWS EC2 instances.
- Experience with RMAN backup and recovery .
- Knowledge of performance tuning, query optimization, and database monitoring tools .
- Familiarity with tablespace management, partitioning, indexing, and storage administration .
- Experience in user management, roles, and database security best practices .
- Exposure to high availability solutions such as Oracle RAC and Data Guard.
- Good scripting skills (SQL, Shell, or Python) for automation and reporting.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 support model , including night shifts and on-call support.
- Good communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
Desirable
- Experience with other cloud database services (Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS, Azure DB).
- Exposure to middleware and application integration with Oracle databases.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and incident/change management.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (OEM, Nagios, Zabbix, etc.).
- Previous experience working in a 24/7 Infrastructure Operations environment .
IMPORTANT
- This position is work from Keyloop operational centre , requiring presence during all shifts, including nights and weekends as part of the 24/7 Operations Center.
- Office cab transport is provided for all shifts.
