Implement and manage high-availability and disaster recovery solutions like Data Guard.Perform failover and switchover procedures.Collaboration & Documentation
Collaborate with senior team members and other departments (e.g., application teams) to resolve issues and optimize performance.Contribute to developing and maintaining documentation for database configurations and procedures.Advanced Troubleshooting: Resolve issues that L1/L2 teams cannot, including complex ORA-600 errors and database corruption, often requiring deep analysis and root cause investigation.Performance Tuning: Conduct in-depth performance analysis using tools like AWR and ASH to identify and resolve bottlenecks through SQL tuning, partitioning, and managing execution plans.High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Design, implement, and maintain solutions such as RAC, ASM, and Data Guard for high availability and disaster recovery, including conducting DR drills.Upgrades & Migrations: Lead and execute complex database upgrades, patching, and migrations, ensuring all prerequisites, testing, and post-upgrade tasks are completed effectively.Backup & Recovery: Formulate, implement, and test advanced backup and recovery strategies, utilizing RMAN for reliable data protection.Security & Compliance: Implement security policies, conduct auditing, and ensure databases comply with enterprise security standards.Proactive Monitoring & Capacity Planning: Proactively identify potential issues and design strategies for capacity planning, ensuring future storage, memory, and CPU requirements are met.Mentorship & Documentation: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs, and develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, application owners, and system administrators to optimize database usage and resolve issues collaboratively.Preferred Education
