The opportunity is to build and operate a state-of-the-art plant in India specializing in manufacturing high-precision optical lenses and camera modules for the rapidly growing automotive (ADAS, EVs) and telecom (5G, surveillance) sectors. This leadership role is hands-on and impactful, requiring extensive industry expertise, a proven history in establishing new facilities, and the capability to harmonize international best practices with the unique market and operational conditions in India. As the Greenfield champion, you will be responsible for every aspect of the project, including site selection, layout design, equipment procurement, and managing the plant's transition from Day 0 to steady-state production. Focusing on operational excellence, you will implement top-tier quality systems, lean/Six Sigma methodologies, and Industry 4.0 practices right from the start. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in hiring and nurturing a high-performing local workforce, fostering a culture centered on safety and innovation. Your responsibilities will also involve optimizing the supply chain by localizing vendors while upholding precision standards and cost competitiveness. Acting as a global bridge, you will facilitate the transfer of best practices from the APAC region to India, collaborating closely with the headquarters" technical and business teams. The ideal candidate for this role should possess a wealth of experience in the optics/electronics industry within the APAC region, with a background spanning over 15 years in countries such as Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam, or similar ecosystems. Previous work experience in India would be beneficial but not mandatory. You should have a proven track record of leading greenfield projects, particularly in the setup or expansion of facilities producing optical lenses, camera modules, sensors, or similar precision components. Being a hands-on leader is essential, as you will be required to seamlessly transition from strategic decision-making in the boardroom to troubleshooting activities in the cleanroom. Your ability to drive change through effective cross-cultural team leadership and deliver sustainable performance improvements will be crucial. Proficiency in English is a must, while knowledge of Mandarin, Korean, or Vietnamese would be advantageous. Willingness to relocate to India on a full-time basis and adapt to the dynamic manufacturing landscape is essential. You will have full autonomy over the plant's profit and loss statement and strategic direction right from the outset. By working in strategic sectors like EVs, ADAS, and 5G, you will be able to capitalize on the growth opportunities presented by these industries. The educational requirements for this position include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering. An MBA or participation in an executive leadership program would be considered a plus.,
