Job Description

As an Operation Engineer at Siemens Energy in BALCO, Korba, Chhattisgarh, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the operation, maintenance, and safety of rectifier systems and Extra High Voltage (EHV) substations. Your responsibilities will include ensuring uninterrupted power supply, optimal equipment performance, and compliance with regulatory standards. You will be supervising the daily operations of EHV substations, executing switching operations, coordinating with load dispatch centers, and monitoring SCADA systems to respond to alarms and faults. Additionally, you will operate and maintain rectifier units to ensure voltage regulation, load sharing, and system reliability while troubleshooting issues in the DC power system. Your job profile will involve handling site manpower, contractor manpower, meeting customer KPIs, and fulfilling customer requirements. You must strictly adhere to EHS guidelines and be well-versed in recent industry safety standards, including PTW, LOTO process, and preparing EHS documents. Furthermore, you will be responsible for planning and executing periodic preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, and troubleshooting of various power equipment. To be successful in this role, you should have a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a minimum of 6 to 9 years of experience in Rectifier Operation and EHV substations Operation, with at least 2 years in a responsible position. You should possess excellent technical knowledge of AIS/GIS substation configurations, proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoints, as well as strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Additionally, experience in rectifier substation operation and maintenance activities, customer handling, and electrical troubleshooting is essential. A Supervisory license is preferred.
