Position: Assistant Bookkeeper Location: Remote (India) Employment Type: Contract Reports To: Accounting Manager Role Description • Record day-to-day financial transactions (AP, AR, journal entries, reconciliations). • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar accounting software. • Support senior accountants and CPAs with preparation of financial reports and tax filings. • Review and categorize expenses, ensuring compliance with U.S. accounting standards (GAAP). • Communicate with U.S.-based team members via email, Slack, or video calls. • Handle document organization, filing, and data entry with attention to detail. • Perform other bookkeeping and administrative tasks as assigned. Qualifications • Proficiency in Bookkeeping. • Experience with QuickBooks. • Knowledge recording Journal Entries. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. • Excellent ability to manage time and meet deadlines. • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. • 1–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (experience with U.S. clients preferred). • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets. • Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken).
