Job Description

A Psychiatric Hospital Administrator manages daily operations, finances, compliance, and staff, focusing on efficient, high-quality mental health care delivery, requiring strong leadership, business acumen, and understanding of mental health regulations like the MHA (Mental Health Act) for patient welfare, legal compliance, and strategic growth. Key duties include financial oversight, HR, policy development, regulatory adherence, resource allocation, and collaborating with medical teams, boards, and government bodies to ensure excellent patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities

  • Operations Management: Oversee daily functions, implement policies, manage admissions/discharges, and ensure facilities meet standards.
  • Financial Oversight: Develop budgets, manage expenses, secure funding, and handle financial reporting.
  • Staff & HR Management: Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and oversee HR, fostering a supportive environment for clinical staff.
  • Clinical Quality & Compliance: Ensure adherence to mental health laws (like MHA), patient rights, quality care standards, and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Strategic Planning: Set goals, develop new programs, manage facility changes, and represent the hospital to stakeholders.
  • Liaison & Communication: Collaborate with medical staff, boards, government, insurance, and families; manage legal representation for detained patients.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, diplomacy, and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of healthcare business management and mental health regulations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations and complex legal/ethical issues.

Specific to Mental Health

  • Familiarity with Mental Health Act procedures (consents, detention, tribunals).
  • Coordinating with legal counsel for patient representation.
  • Ensuring proper documentation for patient care and legal compliance.
  • Understanding of crisis management for staff training/support.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
