Job Summary: The Deck Cadet is an entry-level trainee officer position, primarily responsible for undergoing structured shipboard training and gaining practical experience in navigation, deck operations, cargo management, and safety procedures on a large container vessel. This role is crucial for developing the foundational knowledge and skills required to become a competent Deck Officer. Duties and Responsibilities: Actively participate in bridge watchkeeping duties under the supervision of senior officers, learning about navigation, passage planning, and the use of navigational equipment (e.g., Radar, ECDIS, GPS). Assist in all aspects of cargo operations on a container ship, including loading, discharging, lashing, securing, and monitoring stowage conditions for large volumes of cargo. Contribute to the routine maintenance of the vessel's deck, hull, and superstructure, including chipping, painting, cleaning, and general upkeep. Participate in mooring and unmooring operations, handling ropes and wires safely and efficiently. Conduct tank soundings for ballast and fuel tanks, and assist in maintaining accurate records for vessel stability. Participate in all safety drills and emergency preparedness exercises, including fire fighting, abandon ship, and man overboard drills. Learn and understand international maritime regulations (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW) and the company's Safety Management System. Assist senior officers with various administrative tasks and documentation, including maintaining logbooks, record books, and reports. Develop practical seamanship skills, including rope work, splicing, and rigging. Perform gangway watch duties in port to ensure ship security. Proactively seek learning opportunities, ask questions, and diligently maintain the cadet training record book (SSTP).

Job Summary: The Chief Engineer holds the most senior leadership position within the engine department of a Container Ship, responsible for the overall management, safe operation, and maintenance of all main and auxiliary machinery, electrical systems, and technical equipment onboard. This role ensures the vessel's continuous operational readiness, efficiency, and compliance with all international regulations. Duties and Responsibilities: Lead, manage, and supervise the entire engine department crew, including all engineering officers and ratings, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, company policies, and best practices. Responsible for the efficient and safe operation, maintenance, and repair of all propulsion machinery, generators, boilers, pumps, cargo reefer systems, and other critical engine room and deck machinery on a Container Ship. Develop, implement, and oversee the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) for all machinery and equipment, ensuring timely execution of maintenance, surveys, and repairs to maximize operational uptime. Manage the engine department's budget, including the procurement of spare parts, consumables, and services, ensuring cost-effective and efficient resource utilization. Ensure strict compliance with all international maritime regulations, including but not limited to SOLAS, MARPOL, and the ISM Code, particularly concerning machinery, environmental protection, and safety. Monitor fuel, lube oil, and fresh water consumption, implementing strategies for optimal energy efficiency and pollution prevention. Maintain comprehensive and accurate records, logs, and reports related to machinery performance, maintenance activities, incidents, and regulatory compliance. Oversee and ensure the functionality and readiness of all safety equipment, fire detection, and fire-fighting systems within the engine room and throughout the vessel.
