Job Title: Nutritionist & Dietician

Department: Clinical Nutrition
Location: Malar Hospital, Hosur
Reporting To: Medical Superintendent / Clinical Director

Job Summary:

The Nutritionist & Dietician is responsible for assessing patients' dietary needs, creating personalized nutrition plans, and guiding patients and staff on therapeutic diets in coordination with doctors and clinical teams to support overall patient recovery and wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess the nutritional needs of inpatients and outpatients through detailed dietary evaluations.
• Develop individualized diet plans based on patient diagnosis, clinical condition, and nutritional requirements.
• Monitor patients’ response to diet therapy and make necessary adjustments.
• Educate patients and families on healthy eating habits, therapeutic diets, and nutritional support.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and kitchen staff to ensure diet plans are implemented correctly.
• Conduct ward rounds to ensure patients are following prescribed diets.
• Supervise meal preparation and ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained.
• Maintain accurate documentation and dietary records in patient files.
• Support diet-related initiatives in health camps, awareness programs, and preventive health care.
• Assist in preparing monthly reports and presentations as required by hospital management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics / Clinical Nutrition.
• Registered Dietician (RD) preferred.
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting.

Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition and diet therapy.
• Good communication and counseling skills.
• Ability to work in a team and interact with diverse medical staff.
• Proficiency in documentation and basic computer skills.
