Role & responsibilities
Role Purpose
To provide primary medical support and emergency first aid to all employees, with a focus on female health needs, at the Occupational Health Centre (OHC) of the plant. The paramedic will also support the health and wellness initiatives led by the Medical Centre and ensure high standards of care, documentation, and compliance with medical protocols.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical & Emergency Support
- Provide first aid, basic life support, and emergency care during incidents or workplace injuries.
- Assist the Medical Officers in the examination, treatment, and care of employees and dependents.
- Maintain readiness of emergency response kits, stretcher equipment, oxygen cylinders, and first-aid boxes.
2. Female Health & Privacy Support
- Provide a safe and supportive environment for female employees visiting the OHC
- Escort female employees to referral centres if required, ensuring privacy and dignity.
3. Recordkeeping & Reporting
- Maintain medical records, OPD registers, medicine issue logs, and incident registers accurately.
- Assist in updating the medical software for stock and patient details.
- Support data entry and documentation of Periodic Medical Examination (PME), vaccinations, and awareness programs.
4. Occupational Health Initiatives
- Participate in health awareness campaigns cervical/breast cancer, anaemia, nutrition, hygiene, etc.
- Conduct health surveys, camps, and training sessions in coordination with the CMO and Medical Officers.
- Participate in mock drills, health inspections, and statutory compliance checks as needed.
5. Pharmacy & Stock Support
- Assist in medicine dispensing and stock reconciliation if trained and authorized.
- Support maintenance of cold chain for vaccines and expiry tracking for essential medicines.
Required Qualifications
- ANM / GNM / DMLT / Certified Paramedic with valid registration
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in a clinical/industrial setup
- BLS (Basic Life Support) / First Aid certification preferred
- Fluency in Gujarati and Hindi (spoken); basic English documentation skills

Work Conditions
- Duty hours: General shift (with flexibility for rotational/extended shifts during emergencies)
- Location: Occupational Health Centre within plant premises or township
- Uniform and medical safety gear will be provided
