Nuclear Medicine Technologist

· Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals in compliance with safety and quality standards

· Operate PET-CT and SPECT systems to acquire accurate, high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure to patients and staff.

· Ensure correct patient positioning, provide clear procedure instructions, and continuously monitor patient safety and comfort.

· Identify and manage patient complications or adverse reactions during or after nuclear medicine procedures.

· Conduct routine quality control, calibration, and preventive maintenance of imaging systems, dose calibrators, radiation monitors, and hot lab equipment.

· Implement and oversee contamination control and decontamination procedures for spills, leaks, or exposure incidents.

· Handle, store, transport, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals and radioactive waste following AERB guidelines.

· Maintain ELORA documentation and secure necessary approvals for import, procurement, and export of radiopharmaceuticals.

· Keep accurate records of radiopharmaceutical usage, patient scans, quality control, and regulatory compliance logs.

· Collaborate with nuclear medicine physicians, RSO, medical physicists, radiologists, oncologists and nursing staff to optimize patient care.

· Participate in protocol optimization, safety audits and staff training

· Contribute to departmental planning and development, ensuring adherence to radiation safety standards during installation, commissioning, or maintenance of nuclear medicine equipment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Nuclear Medicine Technology

- Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) Level-2 certification is preferred

Experience:

- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in PET-CT and SPECT Ct imaging.
