JOB DESCRIPTION : Design Faculty will be responsible for developing in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression in visual terms, using skills and techniques of design/artistic expression consistent with institution guidelines; to develop aesthetic understandings ; to discover and develop talents of students in the field of design and art. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION : Ph.D./M. Des (PG)/ MFA /B. Des/ BFA or equivalent in Design or related subject with minimum 1 years of experience in design education/ research/ profession with Institutes/organisation. PREFERRED DOMAINS OF EXPERTISE : Design Fundamentals, Design Process, Geometrical Construction, Analytical Drawing, Drawing & Sketching, Illustrati on, Colour, Form & Composition, Life Drawing, Character Design, Story Boarding Visual Perception & Communication, Animation, Visualization & Representation Techniques, Graphic Design, Type Design, Photography, Photography processes, Theories of photography and visual culture, Materials & Processes, Form Studies, Elements of Design, 3D Visualization, Product Design & Development, Material Handling. JOB DESCRIPTION : · To plan, prepare and teach strong lessons for the classroom which enthuse and inspire students, and promote enjoyment of learning. · Teach knowledge and skills in design and art · Knows the fundamentals and different approaches to drawing media technique · Provide instruction by which students develop aesthetic concepts and the ability to make qualitative judgments about art · Demonstrate techniques in activities such as drawing and painting · Knows and can apply elements of design and modern principles of art · Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students · To effectively use a variety of learning styles, having regard to the individual learning needs of students. · To select and sequence appropriate materials, resources and approaches according to the course type and learners. · To assess, track and provide relevant and timely feedback on achievement, progress and developmental needs to students, academic and other managers/colleagues, including student records. · To induct students appropriately, to provide academic advice, counseling, educational guidance, and tutorial support to students, including individual learning plans as directed. · To ensure lessons are in line with statement of work and their respective objectives, and that these are shared with students. · To give feedback on materials, courses and lessons to academic and other managers/colleagues as required. · To contribute towards the optimal utilization of learning environments, eg. Notice boards and displays to motivate and inform students. · To attend academic, departmental and meetings when required and attend/deliver workshop sessions as directed. · To supervise and accompany students on outdoor session, as appropriate, ensuring their safety and welfare at all times. · To deal with student issues/emergencies as and when they arise · To complete associated and administrative tasks to deadlines, as directed.
