Job Description We are seeking a motivated and skilled Research Associate - Battery Materials to join Nexus Power team. The ideal candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research in rechargeable batteries and advanced materials. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects in the fields of energy storage materials, focusing on the design, analysis, and application of cutting-edge materials for next-generation rechargeable batteries. Key Responsibilities Conduct independent and collaborative research focused on rechargeable batteries. Innovate in the synthesis, testing, and enhancement of battery materials to achieve superior performance and efficiency. Perform detailed physical characterization using XRD, SEM, EDX, BET, TEM,XPS, TGA/DSC, ICP, FTIR and Raman Spectroscopy of synthesized materials. Perform detailed Electrochemical characterization using CV, GCD, EIS and GITT techniques. Analyze and interpret data to assess material properties and optimize cell performance. Leverage research findings to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve challenges effectively. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for internal reviews and external stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and industry partners to align research objectives. Mentor junior researchers or interns, providing guidance on experimental design and analysis. Proven ability to address and resolve complex research challenges. Requirements Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. in Materials Science, Energy Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Nanotechnology, or related fields. OR M.Tech/M.Sc. in Materials Science, Energy Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Nanotechnology, or related fields, with a minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated research experience in rechargeable batteries, supported by a thesis or substantial published work. Proficient in safety protocols, environmental considerations, and simulation tools for material design and battery performance modeling. Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and within teams. As an Assistant – Legal Affairs, you will play a key role in legal vetting, compliance management, and supporting the organization in intellectual property (IP) and contract-related matters. Key Responsibilities Assist in drafting, reviewing, and vetting contracts including SHAs, NDAs, NCAs, vendor agreements, and service contracts. Assist in registering and protecting company trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets. Ensure organizational compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Conduct legal vetting of documents to safeguard the company’s interests. Support in managing and protecting the company’s Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio. Ensure compliance with corporate, labour, startup, and industry-specific regulations (e.g., Shops & Establishments Act, Startup India, DPIIT, etc.). Conduct legal research on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters to support business operations. Liaise with external counsel, regulators, and statutory authorities to ensure compliance and effective resolution of legal matters. Assist in creating and updating internal legal policies, compliance processes, and governance practices. Maintain organized legal documentation and contract databases. Provide timely legal support to different departments to ensure smooth business operations. Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, and relevant clauses under law to support negotiation and advisory work. Uphold the highest ethical standards in all interactions with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders. Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and legal precedents relevant to the company. Conduct thorough research on regulatory requirements and licences for internal and cross-border operations. Requirements Requirements B.A., LL.B. (Integrated) / LLM. from a recognized university. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in corporate law, contracts, or compliance. Must not be enrolled as a member of any State Bar Council, as this is an internal counsel (in-house) position in accordance with applicable law. Strong understanding of legal compliance, contract vetting, and intellectual property (IP). Familiarity with corporate agreements such as SHA, NDA, and NCA. Good research and drafting skills. Strong organizational and documentation abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work proactively in a fast-paced startup environment. Strong legal writing and drafting skills for contracts Flexibility and adaptability to handle diverse legal matters and changing priorities. Proficient in legal research tools, document management systems, and other relevant legal software. Basic negotiation skills for drafting and negotiating contracts or settlements. Ability to navigate and resolve conflicts in legal matters. Major Skills & Regulatory Knowledge Strong understanding of corporate and commercial law, contract vetting, and intellectual property law. Knowledge of key Indian regulations: Companies Act, 2013, Labour Laws, Shops & Establishments Act, Startup India & DPIIT guidelines, environmental and energy-sector regulations, and data privacy/data protection laws. Proficiency in legal research tools, document management systems, and drafting of complex agreements. Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts in contracts or settlements.
