NETWORK ENGINEER

As a Network Engineer with L2/L3 expertise and global support experience, your role will involve supporting and optimizing a large-scale, complex, high-performance network across the global footprint of the company. Your responsibilities will include: - Researching and providing both business and technical solutions based on customer needs and specifications, deploying them into the production infrastructure. - Monitoring, testing, analyzing, and evaluating the existing network environment to optimize it based on resiliency, technological advancements, and cost. - Providing network engineering support for enterprise network devices and services such as Routers, Switches, Firewalls, VPNs, Load Balancers, SD-WAN, Cloud Connect, and Network Management Solutions across LAN/WAN. - Driving quality into reported metrics, including measurement of issues, network capacity, vendor equipment/failures analysis, and network performance. Continually assessing the quality and effectiveness of network monitoring and alerting. - Providing lead support as an escalation for lower support groups, offering guidance and direction to lower-level engineers, and engaging external vendor support as required. - Documenting system maintenance, enhancements, and performance for effective network operations and management. - Participating in the on-call rotation with other team members to ensure support coverage for the global enterprise network. - Working mainly in an early shift starting at 6 AM IST. Qualifications and Experience required for this role: - A combined minimum of 5 years of BA/BS education and/or work experience in network engineering and operations. - 3-5 years of experience in managing engineering and operations. - Experience with Cisco, Arista, Fortinet, and F5 products and services. - Good knowledge of Networking and Security standards. - Good knowledge of IT general practices and methods with specialized knowledge in multiple technical disciplines such as cloud, telecommunications, network, and automation. - Working knowledge of SD-WAN management and troubleshooting. - Understanding and experience of cloud computing specifically relating to networks, including AWS, Azure, and GCS. In addition, you should have knowledge and experience with the following tools, technologies, and skills: - Telco: WAN connectivity, LAN connectivity, Fixed Wireless, Colocation services, MMH, SMH, POPs, POTS, 4G LTE, Dark fiber, T1, MLPP, DS3, OC, FE. - OSS/BSS: Service Now, Jira, TEM systems. - Network: SD-WAN, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, VPN, Firewalls, IPSec, Router, Switch, CPE, CO, Load Balancer. - Product: Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, F5, Silver Peak/Velo Cloud, Arista. - Automation: Ansible, Python or domain-specific automation platforms. Your knowledge, skills, and abilities should include: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good customer service skills, and a proven ability to work with various teams. - Strong troubleshooting skills related to firewall and Load balancers. - Self-motivation, high ethical standards, and the ability to work independently as well as with a team. - Development, planning, direction, and control of strategic short- and long-term operational objectives. - Building relationships with clients, engineering, and peer management teams, and effectively navigating across the organization.
