NATM Civil Engineer

The NATM Civil Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, and supervision of tunnel construction using the New Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM). Your role includes overseeing site operations, ensuring safety standards, and managing project timelines and budgets. Project Planning and Design: You will be responsible for developing detailed construction plans and designs for NATM tunneling projects. This involves conducting geological and geotechnical investigations and assessments. Collaborating with designers and planners to create accurate project specifications and blueprints is also a key aspect of your role. Construction Supervision: Your responsibilities include overseeing daily construction activities to ensure compliance with NATM methodologies. Monitoring the progress of tunneling works and coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and site workers are essential tasks. You will also need to adjust project plans as necessary. Quality Control and Safety: Ensuring that all construction work meets the required quality standards and specifications is crucial. Implementing and enforcing safety protocols to protect workers and equipment are part of your responsibilities. Conducting regular site inspections and safety audits will be required to maintain safety standards. Project Management: Managing project timelines and budgets to ensure cost-effective operations is a key aspect of your role. You will need to prepare and submit regular progress reports to senior management and address any issues or delays in the project promptly. Technical Support: Providing technical guidance and support to the construction team is essential. Qualifications Education: - Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Experience: - Minimum of 2 years of experience in tunnel construction using NATM. - Experience in cross passage construction is highly desirable. Technical Skills: - Proficiency in tunneling software and project management tools. - Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and tunneling methodologies. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
