As a Music Teacher at SRMPS, your role involves planning and delivering music lessons, teaching students to read music, organizing school music performances, and mentoring students interested in developing their musical talents. You will create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters creativity and expression. Key Responsibilities: - Plan and deliver music lessons following the school's curriculum (vocal, instrumental, or both). - Teach students music theory, performance skills, and how to read music. - Conduct regular music classes for various grade levels, from basic to advanced. - Lead and organize school music performances, events, and competitions. - Mentor students who wish to enhance their musical abilities. - Manage and upkeep musical instruments and equipment. - Collaborate with colleagues for interdisciplinary programs and cultural events. - Prepare students for music examinations such as Trinity or ABRSM, if applicable. - Keep track of student progress and offer feedback to students and parents. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Masters degree in Music or a related field. - Formal training in vocal and/or instrumental music. - Certification in music education is preferred but not mandatory. - Previous experience teaching music in a school or educational setting. - Proficiency in playing one or more musical instruments (e.g., keyboard, guitar, tabla, etc.). - Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills. - Passion for working with children and nurturing young talent.
