Key Responsibilities Repair & Maintenance Lead repair of UHMWPE/HDPE mats using plastic welding machines, extrusion guns, grinders, drills, hammers, and chisels. Inspect damaged mats and decide on appropriate repair methods. Ensure quality standards for repaired mats so they are safe and deployment-ready. Team Supervision Manage a team of 3–4 technicians/helpers engaged in mat washing, basic repairs, and loading/unloading. Allocate daily tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Train junior staff in repair techniques, tool handling, and safe work practices. Workshop & Inventory Management Maintain tools, welding machines, and consumables in working condition. Track repaired vs. damaged mats and maintain basic records/logs. Coordinate with Operations team for movement of mats in/out of the yard. Health, Safety & Compliance Ensure safe working environment in workshop and during loading/unloading. Enforce use of PPE (helmets, gloves, safety shoes, etc.) for all staff. Report incidents/near misses to management promptly. Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Plastics, Fabrication, or related trades. Experience: 5–10 years in plastic welding, fabrication, or heavy equipment maintenance, with at least 2–3 years of team handling. Skills: Proficiency in plastic welding (hot air / extrusion). Good knowledge of power tools and workshop operations. Ability to lead and motivate shop-floor staff. Basic record-keeping (manual or Excel).
