Mobile Application Developer - Ionic

You will have demonstrable experience in Ionic / Capacitor / TypeScript / HTML5 / CSS / SASS. Knowledge and experience of mobile front-end development is expected, with specific experience of working with Ionic and Angular as a strong advantage. Experience with React or React Native will also be beneficial. Good knowledge of front-end principles and a passion for producing high-quality, performant, and maintainable user interfaces is essential.

Youll work as a senior engineer in a dedicated Mobile Development Team within a fast-moving and growing Technology function. Over the past few years, we have invested heavily in our technology and have built a strategic App Platform evolving from the legacy Ionic / Angular / Capacitor stack.

Youll review the work of other team members, mentor junior developers, and collaborate closely with the team leader, product owner, and UX team, as well as key stakeholders.

Key Activities

• Develop high-quality code as per specifications and coding standards
• Liaise with senior project stakeholders both verbally and in writing
• Create and implement unit tests with appropriate coverage
• Review Pull Requests and provide constructive feedback
• Contribute to process improvements and continuous delivery practices
• Provide 3rd-line technical support when required

Key Technologies

• Ionic / Capacitor / TypeScript / JavaScript
• HTML5 and CSS3, including responsive layouts , media queries and shadow dom.
• Angular (core framework experience preferred)
• Cross-device compatibility and performance optimization
• Accessibility and usability (WCAG, ARIA standards)
• Git and Gitflow workflow
• Testing with frameworks such as Browserstack, Jasmine, Karma, or Jest

Desirable Skills

• Experience with React or React Native (added advantage)
• Experience with Shadow DOM and related web component concepts
• Understanding of mobile UI performance optimization and lazy loading
• Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., S3, CloudFront, Cognito) or third-party API integrations
• Experience with CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind, Bootstrap, Material Design)
• Exposure to design and prototyping tools such as Figma or Adobe XD
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Agile/Scrum practices

Qualification and Experience

• Educated to degree level or higher in Computer Science (BE/BTech/MCA)
• Experienced front-end developer with a history of delivering high-quality, robust mobile applications
• 6+ years working with front-end and mobile app technology
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
• Experience providing internal client-facing support is an advantage
