MicroController QA Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Verification & Validation engineer with experience in embedded systems (MCU-based SDK) to join our team. The V&V will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing test strategies and test plans to ensure the quality, reliability, and stability of our MCU-based SDKs and associated hardware/software integrations.

This role demands both domain knowledge in embedded systems and strong V&V automation skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, firmware, and software teams to understand requirements, architecture, and use cases for the ESP32 and MCU-based SDK layers.
• Integration testing with Edge devices (gateway) to AWS IoT SDK
• Integration testing of ESP32 SDK with AWS IoT SDK.
• Define, plan, and maintain test strategies, test plans, and test cases for integration, system, regression, and acceptance testing
• Work with hardware prototypes, development boards, and reference designs to validate SDK behaviour in real-world conditions
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites (e.g. using Python, C/C++, embedded test frameworks)
• Perform manual testing when automation is not applicable (edge cases, exploratory)
• Validate SDK APIs, driver layers, communication interfaces (e.g. SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, USB, BLE, BLE stack, etc.)
• Test for robustness under various environmental conditions (power cycling, resets, interruptions, boundary conditions)
• Ensure that test suites run as part of the CI/CD pipelines (integration with build / release automation)
• Measure, report, and improve test coverage, defect metrics, quality KPIs

Required Qualifications / Skills

• Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical or related field
• Hands-on experience in embedded firmware/software, MCU-based SDK, AWS IOT Core
• Experience with End-to-End integration Testing
• Collaboration with Mobile App and Cloud QA teams for integrated FW - Cloud- App validation.
• Experience working with microcontrollers (like SEP/STM etc.) and peripherals (GPIO, SPI, I2C, UART, timers, interrupts)
• Strong understanding of software architecture in embedded systems (RTOS, drivers, HAL, middleware)
• Solid scripting languages skills like Python, Shell
