Microbiologist

Position: Microbiologist Location: STPPL, Mettupalayam, Coimbatore Type: Full-Time Salary: As per Company norms and candidate profile Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced microbiologist to join our dynamic laboratory team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in microbiology techniques streak plating, pour plating, colony transfers, staining and should be knowledgeable about equipment used in a microbiology Lab. Knowledge on AATCC test guidelines is a plus but not mandatory. The candidate should have strong mathematical and analytical skills, and the ability to manage basic chemistry-related laboratory tasks. The candidate should be smart, perceptive and responsible as he/she will be instructed to run a full time testing laboratory and will be involved in some small work on chemistry-related large scale projects. Key Responsibilities: Conduct microbiological testing, including preparation, testing, report generation, and data interpretation for our Microbiology testing Laboratory. Handle and maintain microbiology-related laboratory equipment and perform relevant experiments. Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and good laboratory practices (GLPs). Maintain accurate records and logbooks for experiments and quality control. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate project completion. Qualifications: Master’s degree in Microbiology, Related fields like Biochemistry or Biotechnology can be accepted, provided the candidate has good knowledge on Microbiology OR should have been involved in microbiology related projects OR should have done Microbiology as a major in BSc. Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a microbiology laboratory. Basic Knowledge of chemistry-related tasks and equipment handling (preparation of solutions, weighing, handling distillation units, basic analyte testing, etc). Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Other Preferred Skills: Experience with Excel for data analysis. Familiarity with biosafety and industry compliance standards.
