Job Description

The Hospital Microbiologist is responsible for the identification and characterization of microbial organisms causing infections, overseeing microbiological testing procedures, ensuring quality control, and contributing to infection prevention and control within the hospital. The role supports clinical diagnosis, treatment decisions, and public health initiatives. Diagnostic Testing: Perform microbiological tests on patient samples (e.g., blood, urine, sputum, swabs) to identify bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. Interpret culture and sensitivity results to assist clinicians in selecting appropriate antimicrobial therapies.
