Program vertical spindle operations for 3-axis (or advanced 4/5-axis) VMC milling processes. Convert 2D/3D CAD designs into machine-readable CNC programs using CAM software. CAD/CAM Software Proficiency: Work with CAD tools like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA to interpret or create part designs. Generate toolpaths and simulate machining processes using CAM software (Fusion 360, Mastercam, Siemens NX, PowerMill). Toolpath Optimization & Machine Setup: Optimize feed rates, spindle speeds, and cutting parameters for precision and efficiency. Set up and calibrate CNC/VMC machines, including workpiece fixturing, tool selection, and vertical spindle alignment. Material Knowledge: Select proper tools and machining parameters based on material properties (metals, alloys, composites). Ensure machined parts meet tolerances and surface finish requirements. Analytical & Problem-Solving: Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models with GD&T standards. Troubleshoot programming errors, toolpath issues, and machine malfunctions.
