As an Area Sales Manager for Metallographic & Materials Testing in Chennai, your responsibilities will include: - Driving sales for QATM's laboratory equipment portfolio, encompassing hardness testers, metallographic preparation systems, and materials analysis instruments in the designated region - Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with customers in materials science laboratories, manufacturing quality control departments, and research institutions - Meeting specified sales targets and expanding market share for QATM product lines - Providing specialized technical and application support for Rockwell, Vickers, and Brinell hardness testing methodologies - Conducting demonstrations of metallographic preparation equipment and material characterization systems - Analyzing customer requirements and suggesting suitable testing solutions based on material science principles - Developing detailed proposals highlighting the technical advantages of QATM instruments for specific industrial applications - Monitoring industry trends in materials testing and quality assurance to identify new business opportunities Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field (mandatory) - 5+ years of experience in technical sales of laboratory equipment, with expertise in hardness testing systems and metallographic preparation - Proficiency in material characterization techniques, including hardness testing (Rockwell, Vickers, Brinell), microstructure analysis, and sample preparation protocols - Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets in scientific equipment or industrial quality control sectors - Familiarity with quality assurance standards relevant to materials testing (ASTM, ISO, DIN) - Strong technical acumen to explain complex testing methodologies to customers of varying expertise levels - Excellent communication skills to articulate the technical features of QATM equipment as customer benefits - Willingness to travel within the assigned territory (40-50%) What we offer: - Competitive salary package - Performance-based incentives and bonuses - Comprehensive medical insurance - Professional development opportunities with a global scientific instrumentation leader - Exposure to cutting-edge materials testing technology - Collaborative and innovation-driven work environment This role presents an excellent opportunity to represent Verder Scientific's QATM brand, a leader in materials testing equipment, and advance your career with a global laboratory instrumentation leader.
