MEP Engineer(Plumbing Fire Fighting HVAC)

Key Responsibilities

• Review HVAC design drawings, calculations, and equipment selections (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VRF systems, ventilation fans, pumps, etc.).
• Oversee site execution, installation quality, and alignment with approved shop drawings and method statements.
• Perform heat load calculations, ESP calculations, and duct sizing using industry software (HAP, Carrier, Duct Sizer, etc.).
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing trades to resolve clashes.
• Verify material submittals, data sheets, and ensure compliance with project requirements and relevant codes (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA).
• Supervise ductwork, chilled water piping, insulation, and equipment installation.
• Conduct testing, balancing (TAB), and commissioning activities.
• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and provide technical support to the construction team.
• Attend coordination meetings (internal and with consultants).
• Ensure safety compliance at all HVAC installation work areas.
• Review and validate fire protection system designs (sprinkler systems, hydrants, hose reels, FM200/clean agent systems, fire pumps, suppression systems).
• Supervise installation of piping networks, pumps, valves, and system components in accordance with approved shop drawings and NFPA standards.
• Coordinate with consultants and local civil defines authorities for design approval and inspections.
• Verify material submittals for pumps, valves, sprinklers, extinguishers, and special systems.
• Ensure hydraulic calculations (using Elite or similar software) meet project requirements.
• Conduct testing and commissioning: pressure testing, pump room commissioning, flow testing, and alarm integration.
• Coordinate MEP services to avoid clashes with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and ensure site safety compliance.
• Generate progress reports and maintain quality documentation.
• Review plumbing system designs (domestic water supply, hot water systems, drainage, stormwater, sanitary sewage, sump pumps, water tanks, LPG systems, etc.).
• Supervise site works including piping installation (PPR, HDPE, GI, copper), sanitary fixtures, drainage networks, and pump installations.
• Perform water demand and drainage load calculations as per international standards (UPC, IPC, BS standards).
• Review and approve material submittals for pipes, valves, pumps, fixtures, and water heaters.
• Coordinate with structural and architectural teams for sleeves, risers, and shaft allocations.
• Monitor pressure testing, drainage water tests, and system commissioning.
• Prepare method statements, inspection requests, and ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures.
• Attend technical and coordination meetings and resolve site issues.
• Maintain installation progress reports and ensure adherence to project timelines.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Fire Protection Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Commercial Projects/Hotel/High Rise Building Only.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, project management software, Revit, and hydraulic calculation software.
