MEP Engineer

Position Overview

The MEP Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, supervising, and executing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for the plant/project. The role includes coordinating with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and ensuring that all installations meet industry standards, safety regulations, and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

A. Mechanical Systems

• Design, installation, and maintenance oversight of HVAC systems, mechanical piping, compressed air lines, ventilation, exhaust systems, chillers & cooling towers.
  
• Review and finalize mechanical layouts, load calculations, and technical specifications.
  
• Ensure proper installation of mechanical equipment and compliance with project plans.
  

B. Electrical Systems

• Supervise installation and commissioning of electrical panels, cabling, transformers, LT/HT systems, DG sets, UPS, lighting systems.
  
• Perform electrical load calculation, system design, and equipment sizing.
  
• Review and manage electrical safety protocols, earthing/grounding, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  

C. Plumbing & Fire-Fighting Systems

• Oversee installation of water supply, drainage, sewage, RO/DM water systems.
  
• Coordinate design and installation of fire-fighting systems (hydrants, sprinklers, alarms, detectors).
  
• Ensure compliance with NBC, IS codes, and local fire authority regulations.
  

D. Coordination & Project Management

• Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, contractors, and OEM vendors.
  
• Prepare BOQs, material specifications, tender documents, and cost estimations.
  
• Monitor project schedules, track progress, and ensure timely completion.
  
• Conduct regular site inspections, quality checks, and resolve technical issues.
  

E. Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all MEP works follow IS standards, building bylaws, electrical codes, fire norms, and safety regulations.
  
• Prepare and maintain technical drawings, approval documents, installation checklists, and test reports.
  
• Support external audits and inspections (fire, statutory, electrical).
