Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. MEP Operations & Maintenance

Ensure reliable operation of HVAC, medical gas systems, electrical supply, backup power, water supply, fire-fighting systems, lifts, and plumbing.
Implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
Oversee quick resolution of MEP breakdowns in critical hospital areas (ICU, OT, ER, Labs).

2. Project Planning & Execution

Manage MEP design, installation, and commissioning for hospital expansions or renovations.
Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and vendors for MEP projects.
Ensure compliance with NABH, JCI, ASHRAE, and local building/fire safety codes.

3. Energy & Sustainability Management

Monitor energy and utility consumption; implement efficiency improvement initiatives.
Explore renewable and green building practices (solar, STP, HVAC optimization).
Prepare regular MIS reports on energy utilization and cost savings.

4. Compliance & Safety

Ensure hospital systems meet statutory norms (fire NOC, pollution control, electrical safety, biomedical waste).
Conduct risk assessments, safety drills, and staff training on emergency handling.
Maintain documentation required for audits, inspections, and accreditation.

5. Team & Vendor Management

Lead and mentor the MEP operations team, ensuring skill development and adherence to SOPs.
Manage vendor contracts, AMCs, and service-level agreements.
Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate cost-effective solutions.
