Job Description

Role & responsibilities : This role is responsible for the end-to-end installation, configuration, and maintenance of File, Mail, and Web servers, while ensuring network connectivity, system security, and integration with existing enterprise or transportation infrastructure. The engineer will collaborate with networking and application teams to ensure systems are compliant, robust, and optimized for performance in multi-vendor environments. Mandatory Skills: Strong working knowledge of Linux((Red Hat/CentOS/Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments (installation, configuration, and troubleshooting) Minimum 2-4 years of experience in server installation and maintenance. Application and Storage-level understanding related to: File servers (e.g., Samba, NFS, FTP) Mail servers (e.g., Postfix, Dovecot, Exchange) Web servers (e.g., Apache, NGINX, IIS) NAS/SAN Solutions: Setup and configuration of RAID levels, NFS, SMB/CIFS shares Perform log monitoring, service audits, and root cause analysis of system failures. Test and verify server connectivity with local and remote clients. Level 2 networking expertise, including: Configure static IPs, gateways, subnetting, Switching & Routing fundamentals Wi-Fi configuration and support Configure static IPs, gateways, subnetting, Basic understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, FTP, SNMP, NTP protocols. Coordinate with the cybersecurity and network teams to ensure compliance and safe integration. Basic knowledge of clustering concepts: Failover, load balancing, and high availability Preferred candidate profile : 1. Experience with technical documentation tools, such as Microsoft Visio, including: 1. High-Level Design (HLD) 2. Low-Level Design (LLD) 3. System architecture diagrams 2. Configure and manage virtual machines or containers (KVM, VMware, Docker) (virt-manager, cockpit web interface) if needed. 3. Familiarity with enterprise IT infrastructure standards (ISO 27001, ITIL). 4. Hands-on experience with automation tools (Ansible, Bash, PowerShell) is a plus. Pre-requisites B.E./ B.Tech in Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communication, or Information Technology, MCA(Masters in Computer Applications) Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals, IP addressing, and OSI model.
