Mechatronics Program Lead Engineer

As a member of the Customer Support Business Group at Lam, you will be dedicated to providing premier customer support throughout the customer lifecycle. Your role will involve driving performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers" installed base performance through service and lifecycle solutions for critical equipment and processes. In this role, you will: - Collaborate in a cross-functional team to design, build, test, and troubleshoot applications on Lam robotic systems - Prototype, test, and optimize mechanical, electrical, and software components for enhanced performance and reliability - Create detailed design documentation, technical specifications, and integrate sensors, actuators, and control systems for autonomous operation and intelligent behavior - Conduct thorough testing and validation procedures to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements - Design and conduct test experiments to resolve complex technical problems - Implement DOE principles and provide technical support throughout project lifecycle - Generate clear presentations and data-driven reports to communicate engineering solutions and recommendations - Apply engineering theories, methods, and research techniques to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems - Act as a liaison for cross-functional projects and possess valuable skills in robotic path programming and computer vision We are looking for candidates who possess: - Bachelor's, Masters, or Ph.D. in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related field - 8+ years of professional experience in domains such as Robotics, Computer Vision, Path Planning, Control Theory, Sensor Fusion, or Deep Learning - Expert-level programming skills in C++ and Python with a deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts - Hands-on experience with ROS2 in complex or commercial projects - Proven track record in developing and deploying large-scale robotics software - Proficiency in Git or similar version control systems and experience with modern software development workflows Preferred qualifications include experience in robotic hardware design, end effector application development, proficiency in MCAD model creations, familiarity with simulation environments like Gazebo or Isaac Sim, and a track record of publications in top-tier robotics or computer vision conferences.
